Curtis Media Group in Raleigh has graciously allowed Arts Access to record several Public Service Announcements (PSAs) at their studios for use on Triangle area Curtis Media owned radio stations on several occasions.  Most computers already have programs (Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, etc.) which will correctly launch when the links below are clicked.  Due to the size of the files, these are best played on computers using broadband connections (cable, DSL, etc.).

In Spring 2006, we recorded four PSAs advertising a free ticket giveaway for Doctor Dolittle, sponsored by the Cary Lions Club.  Each of the following PSAs runs 1 minute, is recorded in MP3 format, and is about 950KB in size.  They aired on Y-102.9 FM and WPTF 680 AM.

In September 2005, a series of 3 PSAs were designed to increase public awareness of audio description, as well as name local theatre organizations who have committed to a full season of audio description for their patrons with visual impairments.  They were aired on the following stations throughout September 2005:  WPTF-AM, WQDR-FM, WBBB-FM (96rock), Y-102.9 FM, WDNC-AM, WDNZ-AM, and WCLY-AM.  Curtis Media replayed the PSAs on two of the stations in September, 2006.

Each of the following PSAs runs about 1 minute, is recorded in MP3 format, and is about 600 KB in size.

Alternatively, you may read the text of the PSAs in print or with a screen reader (MS Word document).

In Spring 2005, Curtis Media recorded and placed three PSAs for us when we teamed with the Cary Lions Club in promoting a contest giving away free tickets for the upcoming performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast by NC Theatre.

THANK YOU Curtis Media Group for helping spread the word about Audio Description!
