Upcoming Training Opportunities
Arts Access is sponsoring a series of workshops in Raleigh focused on including people with disabilities in the arts. The three workshops will focus on topics related to the ADA compliance and how to successfully include children and adults in arts programming.
February 28, 2012: Arts for All: Including School-Age Children with Disabilities in Arts Education Activities
Arts Access, Inc. is pleased to present a workshop on strategies for including children of all abilities in arts education activities. The target audience is arts educators, summer camp and afterschool staff. The workshop is designed to support both teaching artists and program administrators. Topics to be covered include:
- Disability Awareness and Understanding
- Working with Families
- Marketing, Registration Procedures, Needs Assessment
- Activity Modification and Inclusion Strategies
- ADA: Understanding the law and how it applies to your program
Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop for .5 hours that may be submitted by the participant for CEU's. Note: you may need prior approval from your employer for workshop credit.

When: Tuesday February 28th, 10am – 3pm
Where: Pullen Park Community Center, Raleigh NC
Cost: CORAC members: $35, non-CORAC members: $50. Lunch and program materials are included.

Thank you to the City of Raleigh Arts Commission for partnering to present these workshops. These workshops are available to everyone. However, CORAC members will receive a discount on registration.
